Prospect Lake Tri - June 24th

Last Sunday Brett, Orion and Isabella competed in a local triathlon. This was the second year for the Prospect Lake Triathlon (http://prospectlaketriathlon.com/). Brett and Orion finished this race last year, but this was Isabella's first triathlon. All three of them did really well. Brett finished 2nd in his age group. Orion did the entire race without any help from Mom or Dad. Isabella was the youngest racer and she did the entire thing. The distances for the kids are - 50m swim, 1.5 mile bike and .6 mile run. We are really proud of all three racers! Here are some pictures from the race.

Brett transitioning from the bike to the run.
Orion and Isabella waiting to cross the timing chip mat before getting in the water to swim.
Orion swimming. The water was shallow enough that Orion could touch the bottom if he needed to.

Orion running to the transition area for the biking portion.

Orion biking.
Orion running around the lake by himself.
Orion crossing the finish line!
Isabella swimming. She had a lifeguard next to her during the swim because she was the last swimmer out of the water, not because she needed the lifeguard's help.
Isabella going out on the bike ride.
Isabella finishing her 1.5 mile bike ride. She had only road a bike twice before this day. Brett had Hunter in the backpack and they went with Isabella on the whole bike ride. She needed the encouragement, but she biked most of the course by herself - just a few little pushes.
Isabella starting her run. Brett says that she just kept on going throughout the whole race - not very fast, but just kept going.

Isabella crossing the finish line. She had quite a crowd cheering for her as she crossed.
