Hunter Rides a Bike!

Hunter started riding Isabella's bike the other day. He just asked me to buckle his helmet and then got on the bike.
Click on the second picture because you have to see Hunter's face close up. It is one of the most classic Hunter faces.
Brett asked me why Hunter was riding the "girl's" bike - because Orion's bike doesn't have training wheels and it doesn't matter to Hunter. Hunter is quite proud of riding the bike!!

Stinks to be the Baby

Sabrina was MAD this afternoon. After completing their homework (most of it anyways) Orion and Isabella went into the front yard to play with their two good friends who live across the street. Hunter was also allowed out front to ride his bike in the driveway. Sabrina stood at the front screen door crying and hitting the door. She was so mad that she couldn't go outside to play with her siblings. I had to finally give up making dinner and take her out front for a few minutes. She just wandered around the driveway ... in her ballerina outfit ... happy and proud that she got her way and was outside with the "big" kids.

Piggies and Spaghetti

Sabrina did not cooperate for the picture. But this is the first time she wore piggies. I thought she looked SO cute. The reason for the tears is quite funny ... Even after four kids Brett does not like being touched with slimy hands, face, etc. nor have his food touched by slimy hands. Sabrina was trying to dip her hand into Brett's freshly poured iced mountain dew. She got really mad when he took the cup away from her.
Sabrina LOVES spaghetti!

Mountains hold the key

There are days when I really want to move from Colorado Springs ... this town is WAY too conservative for me, we have few friends we do things with, my two best friends live elsewhere, our families (aka built-in babysitters ;-) live elsewhere, our house is nice, but not "ideal", we don't have any space for the kids to get wild outside, our jobs are okay - not great, etc., etc.
But then I take a look out my back doors (we have three sliding glass doors that face west) and I get a view like this picture. The picture doesn't come anywhere close to doing justice for tonight's sunset. I have fallen in love with having mountains - mountains to look at as the sun sets, mountains to camp, hike and fish in, mountains to race down on skis, mountains to spend time with our kids in and mountains just to know they are so close. I'm not a native Coloradoan, but I don't think I could love living here more if I were.

Bath Time at the Wilsons'

I have been asked on more than one occasion how we get all of our kids to bed at night. I normally respond with a puzzled look and "what do you mean?" We definitely do not bathe them every night. What a waste of water; they are simply going to get dirty again. And we tend to bathe them together. BUT ... not very often do we have all four kids in the bathtub at the same time. Tonight was special because we spent all day at Chatfield Reservoir, got home later than planned and they have school tomorrow. It did make for a cute picture!!
