What does a 21 month old do on a 6 hour road trip?

Last weekend we drove to Albuquerquer to visit my family. With young kids you just never know how the car ride is going to go. Sabrina did fabulously!! She was very easy to keep entertained. The biggest problem I ran into was that she would have all of the shapes back in the ball so quickly and want to do it again. This makes me hopeful for our road trip to Indiana this summer.

Christmas Thank Yous

I have good intentions. At the beginning of January I took pictures of the kids with their Christmas presents. I intended to print out the pictures and mail the pictures with thank you cards that the kids wrote. Well ... seven weeks later I finally helped the kids finish writing the thank you cards. I went to print out the pictures tonight and the printer was out of ink and needed cleaning. I just decided to post the pictures here and mail the thank you cards tomorrow without pictures. Maybe one year I'll have my act together! New pajamas from Grandma Dixie and Papaw
Placemats that they can draw on with chalk from Auntie Beth & Uncle Harold
Decked out in Purdue hats and shirt. Hunter is hiding behind our new Purdue popcorn bowl - all from Aunt Nancy and family. The popcorn bowl is a BIG hit. Orion's shirt never hangs in the closet; he takes it out of the clean laundry to wear it.
Fun toys to build and play with from Grandma Linda and Grandpa
Magnets, math books and make-up from Uncle Mike
Toys from Great Grandma Kirby
Toys from Grannie

Two favorite pastimes

Sabrina has two favorite pastimes right now - playing with her baby dolls and coloring. When she is playing with her dolls she has to have the blankets laid out flat on the ground. Then she wraps the baby up. When she colors she likes to show off her masterpieces after she has finished. She also enjoys playing tag with her siblings, but pictures of that don't really do the hilarity justice.

Monkeys

These two children regularly consume entire bananas. They would probably eat two entire bananas in one sitting if I let them. They insist on eating the bananas like monkeys - which means with the peel still attached. It took me a few days to realize this, but Sabrina has a word for banana. She calls them "nas."

Daddy - Daughter Love

Brett was gone all week, so we spent most of Saturday just hanging out together. There was a lot of wrestling and tickling. Doesn't she look like she's having fun? :-)

I begged them to be helpful

With Brett out of town and my parents back in Albuquerque, I need all the help I can get. Last night I begged Orion and Isabella to help. They did great. Orion played basketball with Hunter while the girls were taking a bath. It wasn't hard to convince Orion to do this, but it was still very helpful. Isabella helped Sabrina in that bathtub and washed her own hair. Then Orion read books to Hunter while I read with Sabrina. It was a good night. I hope tonight goes as well and I'm very thankful that Brett will be home tomorrow!!

Just for Cindy

Here are a few random pictures from January.
Sabrina was sick with a stomach bug. She fell asleep with her head propped on the bottom step.

All four kids in their new PJs from Grandma Dixie and Papaw.

Hunter zooming down the slide.

Hunter and Isabella playing with Isabella's new Polly Pockets. (Those toys have way TOO many small pieces.)

Hunter loves to ride his bike. We passed Orion's old bike on to Hunter and made it "his" by putting some new horns, and toys on it.

Sabrina loves to play with baby dolls. She is giving her baby a drink of water from a sippy cup.

Sabrina riding the zebra. She gets a little crazy on this thing sometimes.

Sabrina likes to climb the ladder into the top bunk. She frequently surprises Brett and I by being up there laughing and playing.
